Off to Oklahoma!
There probably won't be a ton of posts for the next week and a half as I and the kids are leaving to go up to Oklahoma. If any of my old Oklahoma friends would like to get together e-mail or call me! I would love to get to see you guys!! Look for a whole spill of posts after Mother's Day!
Deep Thoughts
What do you think my son might be thinking about in this photo?
I think he is strategically planning his route to get to the street without Mommy scooping him up halfway for the 30th time that day. Cute kid, one track mind.

Public Service Announcement...
Don't let a plastic utensil fall down onto the heater in the bottom of your dishwasher or it will come out like this...
And it makes the house stink really, really bad. The end.

First Prayer!
Okay, not really her first prayer, but her first prayer in primary. Yes, that's right Lyna gave her very first closing prayer in primary, which is her first time to do anything in front of everyone in primary. She was SO excited to be asked to do it, she talked about it so much beforehand. I was a little nervous that once she got up there, so would get nervous and shutdown, but she proved me quite wrong. Daddy helped her (and since it was kind of a milestone, mommy was there too) and she did fabulous. She spoke loud and just did so good, we were so happy for her and she was very excited! I can't believe how old she is getting on us. She is really growing up fast!
My Little Helper Boy!
Alyna received a set of pretend cleaning supplies (broom, mop, etc.) for her birthday last year. They have been a big hit with both kids. But, Noah especially really loves to help. Anytime I get my big broom out to sweep, he runs and finds the little one and comes and helps me. And he is always so happy to help out; I hope this keeps up throughout his teenage years!

Swimming
Michael went to the store today and came home with a pool for the kiddos. They had a lot of fun playing in it, although Noah was a bit apprehensive of the cold water at first. They have been in and out (and in and out, and in and out) all day and are loving the relief from the hot Texas sun.
Off to the movies!
Last night we took a trip down to the drive in movie. Michael outfitters our van really well with a nice couch setup and we went and saw "Nim's Island". The movie was cute and we had lots of fun. The weather could not have been more perfect for a drive in. We also stayed for a bit of "Horton Hears a Who", but we had already seen it and it was late, so we headed home before it was over.
Another Storm!
We had another big storm roll through Thursday night. It dropped lots of rain on us and even more hail. The hail was so strong that I was fearing it was going to break our windows in our home, but all was fine. The transformer in our neighborhood busted again and we were out of power again. But, luckily, it only took them a day to get it fixed this time. Here are some photos of all the hail, it truly looked like it had snowed, but it was about 70 degrees outside!
Bodhi goes to school!
Well, since we are finally settled somewhere, we decided it was time to get our puppy trained (yes, he is still a puppy, only a year old). We would have liked to have started with professional training earlier (like before he was 120 lbs.), but because of all the moving and stuff it hadn't gotten done. We started last week and are loving it. He is learning a lot and improving very fast.
The Garden
We spent a lot of time last week getting our gardens ready for this year. Here are some photos. We have lots of things planted including onions, green peppers, tomatos, green beans, broccoli, lettuce, and spinach. We also have a big pear tree on our property. We are hoping for a good yield this year!
Really neat park!
We went to a great park this last weekend. It is located just about 10 minutes away from us and is so cool! It has a duck pond (with turtles too), a really neat place area, and lots of open space for Michael to kiteboard at. We had a lot of fun, but unfortunately this is the only photo I caught before my camera decided to run out of battery.

Blackout!!!!
So, we have been without power for a few days! We woke up to no power on Thursday morning. Apparently, as a big storm blew through Wednesday night a transformer blew and caught our neighbor's tree on fire! When Michael woke me up Thursday morning to tell me we had no power, I thought for sure it would be back on by the time I got up for the day (he leaves the house a couple of hours before the rest of us wake up), but no such luck. The horrible part about all this is that Wednesday night I had been reading a bunch of articles about why we should have our food storage (which we do not have, but I have resolved to do better on) and then I wake up the next morning to no power! For a split second, the irrational side of me freaked out a bit at the the thought of the world as I know it ending and us not having our food storage!! But, that passed quickly and I figured it would be on soon. The weather was beautiful, so it wasn't too bad the first day. But, the night before we had just bought a ton of meat and put it in the fridge, so I was getting really nervous by Thursday afternoon. Luckily, right about that time our neighbor came by and asked if we wanted to plug our fridge into his generator!! What a blessing! I dug around in "Michael's garage" (I have no idea where anything is in there) and finally found enough extension cords to reach over to the neighbor's backyard. I also had to move our HUGE fridge out from the wall all by myself to get it to reach, ugh. But, we got it all plugged in and I seriously thought this could not go on much longer. We had company coming in that day, my friend Sam and her beautiful family, so instead of having the wonderful lunch I had planned for them, we had to go to Applebee's where there was power! Anyway, Thursday turned to Friday and still no power and FINALLY Saturday morning it came back on!! We were so so glad! We had a ton going on Saturday and having the lights back was such a blessing. Anyway, I have heard a few people say that this is relatively normal with our power company, but I am hoping they were kidding (although I don't think so). Hopefully it will be a while before another power outage, since this is the third we have experienced this year!

Another Sewing Project Completed!
I know, I know, yet another sewing project, but what can I say? I am having too much fun with these little girl clothes! From now on I think I will do a weekly craft post with all of my completed objects, that way I am not having SO MANY posts be about crafting! Anyway, this is my first ever object to do without using a pattern or a tutorial, all made up by myself! I was a little nervous about how it might turn out, but it actually worked!
And here are a few cute ones of the kids while I am at it!

FHE
For FHE this week, we used the theme "Hold to the Rod" and used this lesson from Sugardoodle. It was a lot of fun. The kids loved doing all of the fun activities!

Another Skirt!
Just yet another skirt I made for Lyna! It was actually supposed to be a shirred dress, but I was having shirring issues so I just turned it into a simple skirt.
Fun in the Mud
Last week, we had a big rain storm roll through. After the rain, it turned into a beautiful day, a beautiful day with A LOT of mud! So, we let the kids go have fun in the mud. They loved splashing around and making a mess of themselves.
