WOO HOO!!!!

I know I posted this on the homeschooling blog, but its pretty exciting so it gets recognition on both blogs!!! Lyna read her first word ever all by herself today!!! She sounded it out and then put it together and read the word BAD! I am so proud of her and excited that the method we are using is working after all!

Yay for Lyna!!!

About a week ago we started a new discipline technique for Alyna (thanks again to Sam!). We have a cup and when she does something good she gets to add a marble (or more then one depending on the deed done) and when she does something bad she loses marbles. This has been very effective for her and today SHE FILLED HER CUP!!!! She was so excited and as her treat she got to go pick out a toy at the toy store. She picked out a little grocery cart, which was great because her brother likes it too!

FHE

Tonight, we had an FHE about gratitude. We learned what gratitude was and learned about the upcoming holiday, Thanksgiving. I made a gratitude tree which we added "leaves of gratitude" to. We are going to each add a leaf a day until Thanksgiving day (thanks to Sam for the idea!). Lyna was very excited about the tree, she wanted to keep adding leaves! Some of the things we added tonight were FHE, family, cats, dogs, and bees (toy ones)!

Bad day for Noah...

Well, Noah had quite a battle with out concrete front porch stairs today. He was going up and down them having a grand old time and then lost his balance on the top step and took a rolling spill! It was very sad, but he seems to be fine now. His head is a little beat up...
and so the toddler years begin...

My first diaper!

As some of you already know, I cloth diaper my children (well, only one child now as Lyna is thankfully, potty trained). I got inspired to try and make my own cloth diaper, so I made my own pattern and went to town. It turned out a little small for Noah, it does fit, but would be better a little bigger, but I was pleasantly surprised it even turned out at all! I am probably going to invest in a pattern now and see if they turn out any better that way. But, here are some pictures of my first ever cloth diaper to make.

Beautiful Weekend Weather!

Want 75 and sunny in November?? Come to Oklahoma! We have had some of the most gorgeous weather recently, so we spent a lot of time this weekend outside playing. Randi Kay stayed the day with us on Saturday and the girls had a lot of fun playing together. Here are some pictures!
