FHE
Okay, now that we are settled in and back on track I am going to start posting our FHEs again. Last night, we honored President Hinckley with our FHE. We used this timeline of his life to go through some of his many accomplishments throughout his long life. We also read "The Testimony of President Gordon B. Hinckley" and "Succession in the Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints".

President Gordon B. Hinckley Passes Away
President Hinckley has gone home to our Heavenly Father. What a remarkable man he is! I cannot fully express my feelings for him through words. As I am a convert to this Church, he is the only living Prophet I have known thus far. I have loved his words, they have many times lifted and strengthened me. I know that he has served the Lord greatly and I am appreciative for so many of his efforts. In honor of him, I would like to post a link to my favorite talk given by him. This was given in the October 2004 General Conference, only 6 months after his dear companion, Marjorie Pay Hinckley, passed away. This talk is entitled "The Women in Our Lives". For the full news story on President Hinckley's passing, go here.

Sunday Walk!
We had a nice Sunday walk today. The weather was horrible when we left for Church this morning (35 degrees and icy), but 3 hours later when we walked out it had turned into a miraculously beautiful day! So, we took advantage of the reprieve from the dark and dreary ice world that has become North Texas and enjoyed a bit of outdoor time. Lyna rode her bike along, which she loves doing, and kept up fairly well and did a fabulous job of identifying every street sign we passed. Noah rode in the best stroller ever made (linked just in case you need one!) and was his happy little self until the very end when he decided he was done riding in the best stroller ever made and needed to ride on Mommy's hip for a bit. All in all, it was a lot of fun!
Hair Cuts!
Alyna and I went Saturday to get our hair cut. Lyna has only had her haired trimmed one time in her life and it was becoming quite the mullet, so we decided it was time to do something to it. The stylist did a fabulous job on both of us and we both really like our cuts.

The Business of Being Born DFW
I have been devoting a lot of time lately to helping set up the screening of "The Business of Being Born" in the DFW area. I have been doing a lot of the technical stuff and I am so excited to see this movie. Here is the blog I set up about it http://businessofbeingborndfw.blogspot.com
Indoor Herb Garden
Well, here it is. My dear sweet husband made this shelf for me so that we could put this HUGE window with great light to use! We planted lots of different herbs about a week ago and they are already growing. I am excited to use them in lots of good meals!
New Amber Necklaces!
I luckily got into a co-op for amber necklaces recently for the kids. Alyna had one when she was babe and ended up breaking it when she was about 2 and I hadn't replaced hers or gotten one for Noah yet. So, here are some photos in their new necklaces (Oh and I got one too!!!)!

Vermicomposting!
Okay I know it's a little weird, but humour me! We started our vermicompost today!!! we have wanted to compost for a while, but we really don't have the space to do a full compost pile, so we started a vermicompost. It's basically a small compost for food scraps. It is a great learning experience for Lyna, as she will be helping me tend to it and it's great for my upcoming spring garden. Anyway, here are some photos of our new compost!

Trip to Austin!
We went down to Austin for some fun on Saturday. We had a great time exploring Austin, what a beautiful city! We went to Zilker Park, Central Market, and then ate dinner at a great restaurant called Shady Grove. We really love it down there and hope to go back soon. And look I am in some of the photos, woo hoo!

Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam!
Today was Alyna's first day of Sunbeams!!!! I cannot believe how big she has gotten and that she is already in Primary, time has really flown by. She loved her class, but was a little sad that she didn't get to go to nursery after primary. She got over it quickly though! Here are some photos of our big girl ready for primary!
Beautiful day, Beautiful Babies...
Another gorgeous day here in Texas, so the kids were in and out a lot today playing the backyard. Here are some photos I caught before we got ready for Church.
Hiking
We had the most beautiful day here in Texas this Saturday. It was sunny and hovering around 75 degrees, absolutely gorgeous!! So, us being well, us, decided to shirk all responsibility (read: not get ANY unpacking done) and head to the state park to go biking/hiking. We had a blast and it was great to get out in to nature after all of these cold spells! We have all been missing the outdoors.
