Sunday Walk!

We had a nice Sunday walk today. The weather was horrible when we left for Church this morning (35 degrees and icy), but 3 hours later when we walked out it had turned into a miraculously beautiful day! So, we took advantage of the reprieve from the dark and dreary ice world that has become North Texas and enjoyed a bit of outdoor time. Lyna rode her bike along, which she loves doing, and kept up fairly well and did a fabulous job of identifying every street sign we passed. Noah rode in the best stroller ever made (linked just in case you need one!) and was his happy little self until the very end when he decided he was done riding in the best stroller ever made and needed to ride on Mommy's hip for a bit. All in all, it was a lot of fun!

Hair Cuts!

Alyna and I went Saturday to get our hair cut. Lyna has only had her haired trimmed one time in her life and it was becoming quite the mullet, so we decided it was time to do something to it. The stylist did a fabulous job on both of us and we both really like our cuts.

Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam!

Today was Alyna's first day of Sunbeams!!!! I cannot believe how big she has gotten and that she is already in Primary, time has really flown by. She loved her class, but was a little sad that she didn't get to go to nursery after primary. She got over it quickly though! Here are some photos of our big girl ready for primary!

Message in a Bottle...

Well, the long lost message in a bottle finally arrived. I say long lost because we expected it about 3 weeks ago!! My mother and sister had sent to Alyna from Hawaii while on vacation and when it didn't arrive for weeks after they had been back, we thought it had been "lost at sea" (read-lost in the holiday mail), but alas it showed up and boy was Lyna excited! As some of you know, Alyna is so thrilled about mail, so this totally made her day/week/month/maybe year?!? Anyway, here are some pictures...

Lyna LOVES Michael's computer (even going so far as saying Daddy's computer, a MAC, is better then Mommy's computer, a PC. Unfortunately for Mommy, I think she is right!). So, here are some pictures of her "working" on Daddy's computer and talking on Mommy's phone.

Lyna Health Update...

As some of you know, Lyna has been having stomach problems for about a week now. We ended up taking her to the ER last night and it turns out she has a bladder infection. They gave us antibiotics and some medication to take for the cramping. Hopefully she will be back to 100% soon!

Cheer Power Competition

Here are some photos and the video from today's cheer competition. Lyna didn't do as well as last time (I think it was way too early for her, we had to wake up at 6am to get there and she is NOT a morning person), but she still did great and we were very proud of her. It takes a lot of nerve just to walk out on a stage like that!! She got a great trophy this time (bigger then that last time), that she thinks is pretty cool!

So, Lyna loves green peppers and not in the way most of us love them (cooked and in a fajita for an example), but raw...kind of like the Iron Chef guy?!? She loves loves loves them and would seriously eat them all day long, everyday, if I would let her. So, here are a couple pictures of her eating what she says is her favorite food.

WOO HOO!!!!

I know I posted this on the homeschooling blog, but its pretty exciting so it gets recognition on both blogs!!! Lyna read her first word ever all by herself today!!! She sounded it out and then put it together and read the word BAD! I am so proud of her and excited that the method we are using is working after all!

Yay for Lyna!!!

About a week ago we started a new discipline technique for Alyna (thanks again to Sam!). We have a cup and when she does something good she gets to add a marble (or more then one depending on the deed done) and when she does something bad she loses marbles. This has been very effective for her and today SHE FILLED HER CUP!!!! She was so excited and as her treat she got to go pick out a toy at the toy store. She picked out a little grocery cart, which was great because her brother likes it too!

Our Playroom!

So, we redid the kids' playroom when we moved into the new house in May and I didn't ever get around to posting pictures of it. So, I figured I would do it now. This was a big project and we were really excited with how it turned out.

Best Friends

Well, in Lyna's eyes anyways, I think KiKi is still terrified of Lyna. But, Lyna is showly learning about how to treat a kitten gently. I thought this was a pretty cute picture though!
